Continuous and Lifelong Learning
The Office of Continuous and Lifelong Learning embodies Carroll University's support of ongoing learning through innovative opportunities and sits at the intersection of the liberal arts and rapidly changing workforce needs. Credentials meet the growing demand for non-credit-bearing learning that supports people's growth and capacity-building in our complex, global, and pluralistic world.
The implementation process of credentials has been shaped by our commitment and social context. We value and honor the expertise that Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other partners bring to creating and delivering content; and we recognize the need to create systematic, streamlined practices that accelerate development and implementation. Our approach is two-prong: on the one hand, the office manages the logistics of vetting, developing, and launching credentials; on the other, it supports the intellectual work of developing the credentials’ content. Throughout this work, the office assists faculty, staff, and community members to create ideas that reflect our mission and strategic plan; maintain quality control; and provides project management support.
We are committed to providing you with the tools necessary to achieve your professional goals and we understand that communicating your credentials in an ever-expanding online marketplace can be challenging. That is why we have partnered with Credly to provide you with a digital version of your credentials. Digital badges can be used in email signatures or digital resumes, and on social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. This digital image contains verified metadata that describes your qualifications and the process required to earn them.

The Office of Continuous and Lifelong Learning works with individuals and groups to create proposals and content for credentials that could be offered outside of the traditional scope of Undergraduate and Graduate degrees. We assist in the development and implementation of proposed credentials. Project management support and resources allow faculty and design teams to focus on the ideas and content, while the office provides a point of contact for administrative offices.
Faculty and staff can find professional learning opportunities on the Professional Development page.
